Have you ever wondered how people make all those videos you see on Youtube – or anywhere on the web for that matter. Especially the ones that are simply slide presentations with someone giving an audio narration about the content of the slides.
Well here we are going to give a brief overview of how to create a video with Powerpoint. Now we have called it a Powerpoint video because we use the Microsoft Powerpoint program. However, it equally applies to any other presentation program. If you don’t have Powerpoint or a presentation program then we would suggest downloading the OpenOffice suite of programs which includes their version of Powerpoint. Not only will this do the job wonderfully well but it is also FREE!
We have also created a video of how to create the video – hm! – if that makes sense. And you can watch this video just by clicking on the image at the bottom of this post.
If you are not familiar with creating Powerpoint slides then have a look at the video below for a basic guide. You certainly can easily create engaging Powerpoint presentations by adding images and photos, as well as using animation and special effects. But that’s for another time. Here we are all about showing you how to create a video with Powerpoint .
So, how do we create videos from these presentations? Well firstly you are going to need a screen capture program and a microphone. If you don’t have a screen capture program such as Expression Encoder or Camtasia then download a freebie such as Cam Studio.
We personally use Expression Encoder but for the purpose of this video we will actually show you how to use Cam Studio because it is accessible to everyone and it’s what we used when we first started out.
Once you have created your Powerpoint video you can easily upload it to YouTube, Facebook or to your web/video hosting site. Remember, all these added features will be driving traffic to your blog.
